Title: Senior Mechanical Project Manager | Façade, and Building Envelope
Client: This firm is a national, multi-discipline Engineering, Surveying, Architectural & Environmental Consulting firm with offices in NYC and other key cities throughout the US, offering industry expertise and service in the areas of surveying, civil engineering, land planning, structure design and aquatic resources. The NYC office offers industry expertise and services in areas of Façade Restoration, Local Law 11 (FISP), Garage Inspections, Structural Engineering, License Agreement Review, Property Condition Assessments, and Building Enclosure Evaluations.
Description: Immediate need for a talented Senior Project Manager responsible for managing a small engineering design team that performs investigations, analysis and examination of existing buildings as they relate to mechanical/HVAC systems as well as design for ground-up multifamily and mixed-use construction.
Role and Responsibilities:
Manage technical and administrative aspects of mechanical and HVAC design services.
Review assessment information gathered during site investigations. Reviews and comments on technical reports.
Lead mechanical engineering and design across a variety of projects, including multi-family, commercial, and industrial with applications of equipment sizing, smoke control and steam distribution, and major equipment replacement.
Supervise a team of staff designers and engineers to produce schematics and construction designs in strict adherence with NYC codes.
Periodically inspect work from contractors and staff.
Play a lead role in communicating with external clients, contractors, and city agencies.
Maintain project schedules, change orders and budgets.
Mentors junior staff members with technical guidance.
Qualifications:
Ten (10) + years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems design, and calculations in a consulting design environment.
Professional Engineers (PE) license in NY is desired but not required. Candidate should be on the road to obtaining a license.
Experience working with NYC regulatory requirements.
Proficient using Revit and AutoCAD.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
